For Community Language Schools

The essence of professional learning for teachers

Quality in teaching methodology and techniques is a foremost area that CLWA strongly promotes. Emphasis is placed on the following key components:

  • Identification and planning needs of professional learning for community languages teachers;
  • Engaging with other community languages teachers to improve best practice; and
  • Applying professional learning to improve student learning.

CLWA offers a variety of online and face-to-face professional learning sessions on an annual basis in conjunction with Community Languages Australia and other government departments and education authorities. Periodical workshop sessions, which include the development of a framework for professional learning, quality assurance, child safeguarding and best teaching practice, are publicised below accordingly.

CLWA’s PLP is offered free-of-charge to all community languages schools.
